Hello Everyone! It was absolutely a beautiful day for Marching Bands on Sunday, Oct 3rd 2010 up at J Birney Crum Stadium in Allentown.
This stadium, by far, is one of the finest stadiums to march in. I think the announcer had it wrong. J Birney Crum is a Marching Band Stadium that we permit other sports to play in. The stadium is perfect for Marching Band and Dinkels. The astroturf field is smooth, and with all the rain we had just prior to the event, you would never know it. It simply great to walk and march on. It is no accident that so many marching shows are held here at J Birney Crum. Continue reading
Hello All - For a number of years that I have been involved in High School Marching Band activities, I have seen dwindling numbers in the High School Marching Band programs in the Southeastern PA region. I always wondered if it was the schedule or style of judging. While there are ups and downs in attendance and participation, there is no doubt Marching Band is a commitment. There are various reasons for the attendance numbers, Continue reading

Hello Everyone! It is hard to believe it is August 2010 already! Here we are just about ready for the Band Camps to start up across the nation. By now, the show and drill is completed and everyone is excited to start learning their spot on the field! In just a few short weeks, the regular college crowd will be heading back to their dorms to start the 2010 school year. Here we go! But First, we have to get through Musikfest 2010 up here in Bethlehem PA. MusikFest kicks off August 6 through the 15th. A packed full week of Music. If you are in the northeast area and can venture in the Pennsylvania off the I-78 corridor, there you will find a way down to the festival of activities. Here is the main web site for the Festival. http://www.musikfest.org/ For the day by day line up of events, you will want to check out this page: http://www.musikfest.org/lineup/dailys/8-6.asp
There is over 300 artists performing at this festival. To me, since it is local to my native Pennsylvania, it is the “Woodstock” event for our generation. Tons of music, tons of food and drink, and tons of fun. Just scroll the performers showing up and you will see why! Tickets are on sale and you will find that link for ordering on their web site.
Have Fun!
